Irene Howard's Kindergarten Web Page ARRIVAL & DISMISSAL: Students may start their day by attending 8:00 am Mass Tuesday thru Friday at Little Flower Church. Children are to sit up front with their teacher or with an adult family member. School begins after Mass, around 8:30 am. Children are to be dropped off at church since they are not able to get into the school building until Mass is over. There is a prayer service on Monday's. We dismiss at 3:00 pm each day. Kids are taken to the front door for pick up. In bad weather we will keep the students in the entry and dismiss from there. Please let me or the office know if your child goes to a daycare or rides the bus. If some days this changes, or someone else picks up your child, please let the school know. LUNCH: Lunch time is not yet scheduled. Lunch menu's are sent home monthly. If a child prefers they may bring their lunch from home. Lunch is paid for in the school office. A notice is sent home with your child when their lunch account is low. SNACK: Each afternoon we have a classroom snack time. Everyone brings a healthy snack from home. Please do not send peanut product snacks, due to peanut allergies. Each morning I take milk count for students who wish to have a milk with their snack. These milk are paid for in the office also, and again a notice is sent home with your child when their milk account is low. Wednesday we have chocolate milk. No snack is needed on Friday, students take turns bringing a sandwich size zip-lock back of popcorn and a juice box or pouch for each child. A schedule comes home the first week of school. This is our celebration for the end of the week. We watch a video and have a popcorn/juice. HANDWRITING: Practice your childs name using a capital letter and the rest lower case letters. Lower case letters are used in our language 85% more times than capital letters. DAILY NEWS: Each day a daily news comes home with information of what we did that day. At the bottom is a small homework section. Please do with your child and return the paper the next school day. Make sure their name is on the paper. MISCELLANEOUS: Please do not allow your child to bring any toys to school. Sometimes we have special days when this is allowed. I will send home a note in advance on these days. Please label all personal belongings such as backpacks, jackets, snowpants, boots, etc. with your childs name. Please pay attention to the weather, we go out most days.
