Little Flower Elementary ~ Grades Preschool - 5 » Message from the Principal

A WORD FROM THE PRINCIPAL          2010-2011

Thank you for considering Minot Catholic Schools for the new school term.  Please feel free to call with questions.  Better yet, visit our schools to see what we are all about.  We can always set up a tour.  You are always welcome.  Starting with the 2010-2011 school year, pre-school through grade 5 students will be housed at Little Flower School.  It will be wonderful to finally have all of our staff, students and programs under one roof!

Little Flower School offers 4 sections of pre-school.  Children must be at least 3 years old and potty trained prior to August 1st to attend.   Classes have age appropriate curriculums stressing social development.

Our full day kindergarten program is faith based with emphasis on religion, reading, writing, math, science and social studies.  We also offer art, music, and physical education.  Students must be 5 years old prior to August 1st to enter kindergarten.

Grades K-2 stress reading and language arts.  Grades 3-5 are given special emphasis to science and math in their daily instruction.  Lap Top computers, Smart Boards, Robotic Equipment add to our academic offerings.  Music, Art and educational field trips are all part of our fine curriculum.  Our location is very close to Minot State University Campus, which makes a variety of educational programs available to us.

The after school program, “A Little bit Extra” is offered each Monday, Tuesday and Thursday for one hour.  At this point it will be offered for Grades 3-5.

Students are encouraged to attend daily Mass at 8:00 a.m. as a good way to start the school day.  At Little Flower students take part in the Mass by singing, and participating in the liturgy.  Each Wednesday is designated as a “Children’s Mass.  We are excited about having close ties to the Little Flower Church for all of our students.

The Minot Catholic Schools are fully accredited by the state of North Dakota.  We place God at the center of our curriculum.  Religion classes and religious emphasis throughout the day provides a very unique learning environment for our students.  Counseling, art, choral and band, Title I,

Special Services and technology are all part of our program.

Our task is the education of the whole person, blending learning with faith, and faith with daily life.  Thank you for your interest in our schools.  A Catholic education is the best thing you can do for your children.
